# Omit

> Bookmarks that self-destruct in seven days. Omit is a Chrome side-panel extension that gives every saved link a 7-day countdown — read it, vault it, or let it go. Local-first storage, no telemetry, no account, bring-your-own AI key. One-time $19 for Pro, no subscription.

Omit is built by laFlow (https://laflow.dev). All bookmarks live in `chrome.storage.local` on the user's machine. AI features (summaries, chat, weekly archetype) call the user's own provider key directly from the extension — Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, or OpenRouter. The server stores nothing except the email tied to a one-time Pro payment. Compatible with Chrome, Edge, Brave, and other Chromium-based browsers.

## What Omit does

- **Time decay** — every saved bookmark gets a 7-day countdown ring. The closer to zero, the warmer the color, creating urgency by design.
- **The Vault** — tap the infinity glyph to keep a bookmark forever. Vaulted links can be grouped and color-coded.
- **Ghosts** — expired bookmarks are not deleted. They move to a Ghosts archive and can be restored in one click.
- **Tab Sweep** — bulk-import every open tab into Omit with one click. Each gets its own 7-day timer. Close the tabs, keep the knowledge.
- **Ask AI (Pro)** — summarize, question, and synthesize across any saved link or the entire collection. Uses your own provider key.
- **Smart Summaries (Pro)** — one-click gist of any link.
- **Reading Archetype (Pro)** — every Sunday, Omit tells you who you are as a reader. Archetypes include The Hoarder, The Completionist, The Drive-by Scholar, The Monk, and The Synthetic Pigeon.
- **Notion sync (Pro)** — one click turns a vaulted bookmark into a Notion page with an AI summary, your notes, and the original link. Obsidian export also supported.

## Pricing

- **Core** — free forever. Includes the 7-day decay engine, unlimited Vault with groups, the Ghosts archive, Tab Sweep, and 100% local storage. No telemetry, no account.
- **Pro** — $19 one-time, lifetime perpetual license. Adds Ask AI, Smart Summaries, Reading Archetype, Notion sync, and priority updates. Bring your own AI key — calls go from your browser straight to the provider, so AI cost to laFlow is zero.

There is no monthly subscription. There are no caps on saves at any tier.

## Privacy

- Bookmarks live in `chrome.storage.local` on the user's machine. They never leave the device unless the user explicitly enables Notion sync.
- AI calls go from the browser directly to the AI provider chosen by the user. Omit servers do not see links, queries, or content.
- No telemetry. No analytics. No account required for the free tier.
- The only data stored on Omit servers is the email address tied to a one-time Pro payment.
- An explicit consent dialog appears before any AI feature is used for the first time.
