Terms of use
Short version. Omit's free tier is free forever. Pro is a one-time payment of $19 (or local equivalent) for a perpetual personal license. Refundable for 14 days unless you waive that right at checkout to start using AI features immediately. Dutch law applies; mandatory consumer protections of your country still apply.
1. Who these terms are between
These terms apply between you (the user) and laFlow, the operator of Omit, contactable at [email protected]. By installing or paying for Omit you agree to these terms.
2. License grant
The Core (free) tier of Omit is licensed under the terms shown on the Chrome Web Store listing.
The Pro tier is a perpetual, personal, non-transferable license to use the Pro features of Omit on your own browser installations. You may install Omit on any number of browsers that you personally use. The license does not extend to other people, even within your household, beyond what is necessary for normal personal use.
You may not:
- resell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the extension or your license token;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code, except where such restriction is prohibited by mandatory law (in particular Art. 6 of Directive 2009/24/EC on the legal protection of computer programs);
- use Omit to violate the law, or to ingest content you have no right to access.
The license takes effect when payment clears and remains in effect for as long as the Pro feature set continues to be offered.
3. Price and payment
The price for Omit Pro is $19, one-time (charged in USD; your card may convert to your local currency at the time of payment). Where applicable, VAT is added at checkout by Stripe Tax. Payments are processed by Stripe. laFlow is the merchant of record. EU VAT is collected via Stripe Tax and remitted under the One-Stop-Shop (OSS) scheme administered by the Dutch Belastingdienst.
4. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU and Art. 6:230o of the Dutch Burgerlijk Wetboek, starting from the day of purchase.
Because Omit Pro is digital content delivered immediately on purchase, this right of withdrawal can be lost only if, at checkout, you:
- expressly request immediate delivery of the digital content, and
- expressly acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once delivery starts.
Stripe Checkout presents both confirmations as part of the purchase flow. Tick them and you waive the cooling-off period in exchange for unlocking Pro features immediately. Leave them unticked and you keep the 14-day withdrawal right; Pro features unlock at the end of that period.
To withdraw within the cooling-off period, write to [email protected]. You may use the EU model withdrawal form, but any clear statement is enough.
5. Refund policy
Outside the statutory withdrawal period, refunds are at our discretion. We will refund in good faith for genuine technical defects we cannot fix, double charges, or accidental purchases reported promptly. We do not refund "I changed my mind" requests after the 14-day window if you waived withdrawal at checkout.
6. Scope and acceptable use
Omit is a personal productivity tool. You agree not to use it:
- to scrape or archive content you are not authorised to access;
- to circumvent paywalls, DRM, or technical access controls;
- to harass, defame, or process other people's personal data unlawfully;
- to break the terms of any third-party AI provider you connect.
7. Third-party services and your AI key
Pro features call AI providers (Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, OpenRouter) using an API key that you supply. We do not control those providers. You are bound by their terms when you use them through Omit, you pay their usage costs directly, and any quota limits or content restrictions are theirs, not ours.
Notion sync depends on Notion's API and is subject to Notion's availability and terms. Page-content extraction uses Jina Reader (r.jina.ai) and is subject to its terms.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Omit is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded under mandatory consumer law. We do not warrant that the extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every browser version.
To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law, our total liability arising from or related to your use of Omit is limited to the amount you paid for the license. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost data, lost productivity, or third-party AI provider costs.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent, gross negligence, or for matters that mandatory consumer law does not allow to be excluded.
9. Changes to the service
We may update Omit, change features, or move features between the Core and Pro tiers. Material changes that affect existing Pro licensees will be noted in the changelog. Removing a Pro feature outright is not the intent; if it ever happens, we will offer a fair remedy.
We may update these terms; if changes affect existing Pro licensees materially, we will give reasonable notice and you may withdraw under section 4 if the change is unacceptable to you.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence still apply if they offer you stronger protection.
Disputes will be brought before the competent court in the Netherlands, except where consumer-protection law lets you bring the case in the courts of your country of residence.
The European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution platform (Regulation (EU) No 524/2013) at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not currently obliged to participate in ODR proceedings.
